Gov. Larry Hogan is announcing new statewide enforcement measures aimed at slowing the spread of COVID-19 at a news conference at 4 p.m. in Annapolis.

He will be joined by Maryland State Police Superintendent Col. Jerry Jones, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, Baltimore County Police Chief Melissa Hyatt and Restaurant Association of Maryland President Marshall Weston.

Hogan has added new restrictions in recent weeks as Maryland entered its worst surge of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last week, he ordered restaurants and bars to close by 10 p.m. and limited capacity at retail businesses, religious institutions and other venues to 50%.

Maryland reported its highest-ever daily total, 2,910 new cases, on Thursday.
