The Black Mountain Police Department and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported these recent incidents and arrests.

Incidents

Breaking or entering a motor vehicle and theft from a motor vehicle were reported Nov. 15 on Lynx Drive. 

Breaking and entering a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 15 on Lynx Drive. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 15 on Lynx Drive. 

Burglary was reported Nov. 15 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 15 on Lynx Drive. 

Burglary and theft from a motor vehicle were reported Nov. 15 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle. 

Larceny of packages was reported Nov. 15 on West Keesler Avenue. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 15 on Lynx Drive. 

Theft from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 15 on the 300 block of Genesis Circle. 

Larceny was reported Nov. 15 on the 1400 block of Lioness Drive. 

A weapon law violation was reported Nov. 18 on the 100 block of Montreat Road. 

Vandalism was reported Nov. 19 on the 100 block of Rainbow Lane. 

Assault by strangulation and interfering with emergency communications were reported Nov. 19 on the 800 block of Rhododendron Avenue. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 19 on the 100 block of Bee Tree Road. 

Larceny from a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 19 on the 100 block of Bee Tree Road. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported Nov. 20 on the 500 block of N.C. 9. 

Warrant service for offenses committed in another jurisdiction were reported Nov. 20 on the 300 block of McCoy Cove Road. 

Driving under the influence, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and drug equipment violations were reported Nov. 20 on 100 block of Old U.S. 70. 

Driving under the influence, no tag lights, driving with an open container and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance were reported Nov. 20 on the 200 block of N.C. 9. 

Larceny of a motor vehicle was reported Nov. 20 on the 100 block of Woodcreek Circle. 

Arrests

Richard Lewis Bartlett, 52, of Black Mountain, was arrested Nov. 15 on the 900 block of Holly Road and charged with communicating threats, being intoxicated and disruptive and possessing an open container on county property. 

Jama Elaine Campbell, 35, of Swannanoa, was arrested Nov. 18 on the 100 block of Harrison Street and charged with communicating threats and second degree trespassing. 

Austin Ray Smith, 30, of Swannanoa, was arrested Nov. 19 on the 1200 block of Bee Tree Road and charged with assault on a female and resisting public officers.
